Edit: Wow, I am really shocked that this made it into the undiscovered portion of deivantart!

This may be the longest time I ever spent on an art. It is the first time the art actually looked better after coloring. I am really pround of this! I usually never draw clothing or birds so I am really glad I took a risk. This bird is Leece, a grey greater shearwater. She is a nurse but today she is wearing a dress because of a important annual festival. She lives in an older part of a seabird town.

In your description, you said that you were proud and you should be! This piece is seemingly & deceptively simple, but it's evident in the detail in the bead work and the rope that this is a very intricate piece. The only area I would say could use improvement is the building behind the bird. The colors of the shutters kind of run into the red of the building building and it's my opinion that this piece might have more clarity and a more bold impact if all the colors were crisp and clean. That being said, I understand this was a watercolor and that it is sometimes impossible to 'color in the lines'. You used the watercolor to your advantage, especially within the coloring of the feathers and created a beautiful grey gradient down the head of the bird, and within the wings as well.

All in all, wow. Watercolor is my favorite medium but it can be so tricky at times, and you managed it well, as well as creating a really quirky and wonderful painting.
